Puri memutuskan untuk menggunakan Beckett sebagai nya muse untuk Nikki Panas, karakter utama dari seri buku berikutnya. Beckett, pembaca setia buku Castle, awalnya tidak menyetujui memiliki Puri bayangan pekerjaannya, tetapi kemudian menghangat dan mengakui Castle sebagai sumber yang berguna dalam penyelidikan timnya.
